Cabin in the Clouds (CIC) is an impressive custom log home located in Cloudland, Georgia in Chattooga County on Lookout Mountain (34°-32’-41”N & 85°-26’-51”W), with an upper property elevation of approximately 1750 feet that slopes to the valley below. The property is approximately 100 miles northwest of Atlanta, GA, 45 miles south of Chattanooga, TN, and 80 miles east of Huntsville, AL. CIC is located in the middle of 7.75 acres with 645 feet of brow and made up of four separate land parcels. The land is on the east brow of Lookout Mountain with an east-southeast view over Shinbone Valley with the home at approximately 1,000 feet above the valley. The land has a major portion that is flat on the west end of the property and slopes downward to the valley at the east side. The entire property is covered with mature hardwood trees.
Screened Porch
The large screened in the porch off the kitchen through French doors measures 12’x30’ feet with a metal roof and natural slate tile floor. The porch provides access to the back of the garage and to the main back deck area. The porch has three ceiling fans with light fixtures along with electrical outlets on all four walls. The porch was designed to take advantage of the thermal breezes coming up from the valley as they pass by the south side of the home.
Hot Tub Deck
The hot tub deck area is located off the master bedroom/bathroom via a door in the Master Bathroom, or from the back deck area. The hot tub is a fiberglass/wood enclosed LA Spa tub that seats 6-8 people. The hot tub is sunken into the deck for easy access.
Deck
The raised back deck continues from the screened porch to the other end of the home, past the master bedroom/bathroom area and direct access to the hot tub deck.The main deck provides for numerous sitting areas with breath taking views of the valley below. The back deck area covers approximately ~2200 square feet with an additional 160 square feet of hot tub deck with the sunken hot tub (for easy access) and the 360 square foot screened in porch off the Kitchen.
